1. What is SIno-Micro?
Sino-Micro is the abbreviation for the Overseas Chinese Society for Microbiology.
2. Who can join Sino-Micro?
Any overseas Chinese who study microbiology can join Sino-Micro. At this early stage, mainly PIs are actively involved.
3. If I forget or do not have my login information, how can I log in?
You can get your password using your email by going to: http://www.sinomicro.org/users/getpass.php. On this page, enter your email (the one listed in the members.php site). Then an email will be automatically sent to you and provide you necessary log in information.
4. How I can easily make my photo available in the membership page?
There are two ways to easily add your photo to your member profile. After log in, you can copy a web URL of your image to your member profile page, and the sinomicro.org system automatically retrieves your photo from the indicated page and shows your picture on the http://www.sinomicro.org/members.php web page. If you want to change your own image, you can do so easily by changing it to a different URL. To find an existing photo URL, you can go to your official web page or other web page where your photo is included, right click your photo and choose 'copy image location' in Firefox. To to get the URL of an image file in Internet Explorer, right-click on the image, and left-click on "Properties" in the menu. This will display the image URL, and you can copy it accordingly. Then you can paste your image location/URL to the corresponding location in our member profile form. Alternatively, you can upload a photo image file from your local computer to your profile web page after you log in.
5. Can I keep my membership private and not shown in the members list page?
Yes. If a member wants to keep his/her profile private, he/she can log in and then change the setting of Profile Public from "Yes" to "No".
